August, September and a bit of October 2010

Wow it's been a while. I guess this is what happens when you have two very active children! So here are 70 photos to bring you up to speed on what our family has been up to for the last 70 days!

Today, Sarah helped me mow the lawn. Took a bit longer but she really enjoyed helping.

Thanksgiving at our cottage boasted 15 adults, 8 children and 1 very well behaved dog who came up with Grandpa.

I called this the "Old Men's Club" but the 'men' quickly corrected me and called themselves the "Founders"

Perry, Grandpa and Nana's dog, was a hit with everyone. No one could believe he was only 18 months as he was so well behaved.

Everytime Thomas came across Rebecca's bottle, he quickly went over to her to give it back with, often, a caring pat on the back.

Thank goodness for the deck. Even on a very cool October evening, the kids loved running around on it, and the adults loved that the noise volume lowered whenever they went out!

After Sarah helped paint the place cards for Thanksgiving dinner.

Right before Thomas' first skating lesson and yes, his smile was just as big when he was finished!

Thomas and Sarah loves spending time with Grams at the cottage.

Thomas loves the ATV and Pops! Even Sarah got a turn 'driving' this year.

Lots of love for Doodoo!

Going for our walk around the block - notice how the kids are dressed in comparison with Derek!

Thomas and Sarah finally got to meet a very delightful Sarah Montpetit, they had a wonderful  day playing together at the cottage.

Sarah's nursery school float had the kids dressed up as anything  fair related, to Thomas this meant cowboy! The float won second place!

Talk about a pout!

Enjoying a drink after enjoying the rides at the fair.

Thomas and Sarah could have spent all day at the fair, Thomas especially loved anything with speed that he got to pretend to drive. Sarah loved anything to do with animals!

Sarah's first day of nursery school went really well. The next 3 days at school didn't go quite as well, but she does seem to love it now (knock on wood!)

Thomas first day of Kindergarten. He was happy about it then and he is happy about it now!

Sarah and Thomas sporting sweaters that were knit for Tina and myself by our grandmother.

As the adults enjoyed a delicious meal, the kids repaired the zamboni!

Swinging, swinging on a big swing set!

Best buddies.

Holidays!

Holidays started with some beautiful weather at Lake Anne, perfect for swimming!

Happy Birthday to Grams!

Our first time sleeping in a tent with the kids was a great success, they both had a wonderful time!

Our campsite had some great rocks for playing on.

Thomas and Auntie Tina spent a great day together that ended with reading some train books from the 1940's.

Having the cousins over for supper, bonfire and smores was a blast.

Thomas loved playing ball with William and Jack and Sarah loved hanging out in the hammock with Gabby.

After so much running around, everyone was ready for and evening swim!

Paddling in the canoe is one of Thomas' favourite activities! Sarah is still a wee bit small to yield a paddle, but she tries!

Look out our horsey tree we found on the island!

Walks to climb mountains and rocks and to check on Gram's flowers was a daily event.

Ah, the hammock.

The last weekend of holidays had us at Nana and Grandpa's where the kids had a choice of transportation, golf cart or Daddy!

Sarah and Thomas were great helpers to get a roaring bonfire going which we all enjoyed.

The kids seemed to think smores tasted better when sitting on the dock.

Balance beam time

Thomas initiated Grandpa into the boys club, of which Sarah is an honorary member. The first task of the boys club was a camp out in the lean-to ... Sarah decided to stay with the women instead.

The lean-to was all set for use and once the lantern was lit and the stories were read it was off to bed.

The morning brought a very happy, but tired and bug eaten boy. Fortunately the bug bites were more interesting then itchy to Thomas!

On the way home, we stopped at a relatives to pick up their swing set and monkey bars, which Thomas and Sarah helped put together and now love using in our own backyard!

What a great two weeks.
