HOLIDAYS

We are currently in the middle of our holidays, but with over 60 photos that make me smile and often laugh, I figured I'd best post those now as I'm sure there'll be quite a few more before our holidays are done.

On our last night at the cottage, we had a bonfire and had a great time with friends, family and neighbors alike!

While marshmallows and smores were the main menu item, some people, like Sarah, preferred a hunk of dirt followed by a handful of sand and of course a rock or two!

Cousin Greg taught Sarah how to put blades of grass in her overalls! Thomas and Louise relaxed in lawn chairs for a while.

Sarah had to join cousins William and Gabby

Earlier in the day, my best friend and her three children came to visit. Thomas and Sarah adored baby Jeremy!

We had perfect weather for playing in the lake and sand. Sarah loved poring water on herself and Thomas has developed the confidence to swim pretty independently to the duck buoy.

Of course all that time in the sun made the kids pretty hungry.

Thomas had a wonderful time both by himself and with his Grams playing in the dirt and forest while we worked on the cottage extension.

Jack, Sarah, William, Gabby and Thomas made a model of a beaver dam breaking and flooding the nearby area before flooding into the lake. This actually happened during our holidays and made the lake rise a good 4 inches. When we went canoeing to check out the damage we found a lot of small debris as well as large logs from a bridge used to cross a small stream at Thomas and Sarah's cousins' cottage.

Relaxin' with mommy

I'm not sure if anything can beat shoveling good ol' dirt!

Dirty feet = Happy times

While Pops is away the kids will play!

Thomas invited William, Jack and Janice over to play in the lake, but it was a little chilly.

Fortunately with cool weather means bonfire time!

Roasting marshmallows, eating smores, and trying to avoid the smoke!

After smores, Thomas, Jack and William played a rather hectic version of follow the leader, during which Jack took a break in Thomas' chair ... but not to worry, Thomas simply sat on Jack (then gave him a hug)

Family canoe time. As long as we have snacks, Sarah doesn't get too restless.

Every evening after supper, as well as every "break" from working meant deck time. Sarah LOVED running around and being the centre of attention. Hobbes loved eating all the cookies Sarah and Thomas dropped!

Friend Karen also came for a visit and spent the day being a kid again!

Before heading to the cottage, Thomas and Sarah went to the two birthday parties!

Thomas and Sarah also snuck in a visit with Nana and Grandpa before heading out on holidays.

These photos have nothing to do with holidays, but my sister let me download all the photos she's taken and these were a few I just couldn't resist putting up!
