For those of you who have been asking, here are some photos of the work that was completed this year.

We started the year working on finishing the deck, which was used daily over the summer. The kids loved running around on it and we often referred to it as a glorified playpen!

Next we spent a lot of time working in the basement. This place was originally just going to be a crawl space, but when they dynamited the area for the foundation, we ended up with lots of head room, in some areas over 12 feet which meant we had to create levels of various sizes to deal with the slope. Spreading gravel, laying vapor barrier, spreading more gravel, hammering in rebar was probably the most physical of the work we did this year. This fall, the basement (and attics) were also insulated.

This room is still in the middle stage, but has most of the sound proof insulation in, wires run, vapor barrier up, etc. Next year the walls and ceiling will be put up in Tina's room, the bathroom and laundry room.

Entering the back door gives you the first view. The next shot is from standing partway down the hallway looking at the back door and the soon-to-be closet, but for now, workshop storage.

This is Derek's and my room, with deck access off the side. The walls are morenti, a plywood type product that is nice and thin, and pretty light to put up. The only drawback is the smell, which lasts a couple of days to weeks.

The guest room, was used as the cutting room.

The office has a double bed futon in it in case the guest room is in use.

The kids room is my favourite. Very spacious yet cozy feel. In the second photo you can see the radiant heaters Derek sourced out and my dad installed - they are amazing!

Andrea & Dave - note the extra bed for when Paul comes to visit :)
