Thomas' Nursery
The nursery is now pretty much complete, at least enough so that Thomas can sleep there (when he moves out of Pam & Derek's room) and so that it is a relaxing place for Thomas to be held and fed.
Looking mighty tiny

The following photos are to document the construction of Grams & Pop's new home in Carleton Place so they can be a part of the progress while in Australia.
By now the house is most likely complete and ready from Grams and Pops to move in. The pictures below were taken a few weeks ago when the cabinets were being installed and the painting was being finished.

Each week brings a lot more completion to the house and makes us say how happy we think Grams and Pops will be once they've moved in. The electrical is complete, as is the plumbing, insulation and most of the drywall. We were ecstatic to see the vapor barrier was sealed properly and that only screws were being used in the drywall (no nail pops). The curved corners also looks great!

With the plumbing roughed in, the 2 bathtubs in place, the electrical outlets installed (minus the wiring) and much of the ventilation done, the house is really coming together. Oh, the driveway is also paved!

On our visit today we both noticed how tidy the construction site was being kept and how speedy the work was being done (in comparison to our home). We figure the workers are more inclined to get the work done when they are actually getting a pay cheque!
The masonry work is done and looks fantastic.
The front door is now correct (opens the right way and has the windows on the correct side).
Correct Pass Through (was raised approx. 6" more off the floor to meet the height you requested; all measurements you gave are now right on.

With all of the windows now in, and the concrete stairs poured to the front entrance, the house is really starting to come along. Some of the vents are in place, and the framing in the basement is pretty much done. Next step is most likely electrical and masonry.
Garage floor has been poured
Front steps ... not too many :)

Here's some of what was completed upon this visit: the deck was in, the stairs were in, the basement cement floor was in and very smooth! The drain pipes from the basement floor were all in, the electrical panel in the basement was in - but no wiring yet. The framing for the ensuite shower was in. The roof is done. We had some questions about the framing in the basement that we've emailed you.
Okay, onto the pictures :)

Back corner of workshop (under dining room) - possible sump pump?
Finished deck - looked great and felt ultra sturdy! Derek already pointed out where the BBQ could go for when we come over for meals!
The workshop (look how shiny the floor is - will it stay that way?!)

You'll notice the nice lawn your neighbors have and the man on the roof laying shingles!
The dining room window looks great with the half-moon window & I've emailed your agent concerning the front door ... I believe the windows are supposed to be to the left of the door and the door is supposed to open the opposite way (so that it buts up against the garage door). I've emailed both you and your agent regarding this.
This is the view of the master bedroom from the doorway. Almost all of the windows on the main floor are in, it looked like the basement windows were being installed when I was there.
A better view of my concern with the front door.
Here's the living room with the cathedral ceilings and French doors.
All-in-all, things were looking good, I didn't have a chance to check the basement out as the roofers were throwing things from the roof (nails & strips of shingles) and I didn't think Thomas would appreciate being hit by anything.
